SHALONGO – Grazie Nonna!

ILoveNamibia , In-Travel Tour Operator, il Consolato Generale Onorario Italiano, Eagles Rock Tours e la Fondazione Helmut Bleks, in collaborazione con la congregazione delle Suore Benedettine di Oshikuku, stiamo preparando uno speciale evento di Natale per gli anziani in due località nel nord della Namibia.

L’intenzione è di distribuire i pacchetti di cibo e vestiti di Natale a circa 100 anziani sopra i 75 anni, che sono caduti nella rete sociale, cioè che non ricevono alcuna pensione o altro tipo di sostegno e non hanno famiglie che si occupano di loro. Molti sono stati identificati, ma il numero finale di beneficiari, tuttavia, dipende da quante donazioni in natura saremo in grado di raccogliere!

Lo scopo di questo progetto è identificare gli anziani più bisognosi, che continueremo a sostenere nel 2018 (e oltre) con cibo, medicine, abbigliamento e altre necessità.
Speriamo con il sostegno di molti altri amici e istituzioni che condividono la nostra opinione sul fatto che gli anziani non dovrebbero essere lasciati soli.

Crediamo che sia tempo di restituire ai nostri genitori e nonni ciò che hanno sacrificato e dato a noi.

Priora Sr. Magdalena ha trovato queste sagge parole: “Shalongo Nyokokulu ali po, ngeno Nyoko ina valwa”, che significa: “Grazie a tua nonna, altrimenti tua madre non sarebbe nata”. È un ringraziamento diretto alle nonne che hanno sopportato le nostre madri. Pertanto, Shalongo è il nome di questo progetto.

È per questo motivo che chiediamo a te di contribuire a questa campagna con una donazione, in modo tale che almeno per una volta i nostri anziani dimenticati possano celebrare un Natale che valga il suo significato quest’anno.

We – Ilovenamibia of In-Travel Travel and Tour Operator Agency, the Honorary Consulate General of Italy, Eagles Rock Tours and the Helmut Bleks Foundation – in collaboration with the congregation of the Benedictine Sisters of Oshikuku – we are preparing a special Christmas event for the elderly in two locations in northern Namibia.

The intention is to distribute food packages and Christmas clothing to about 100 elderly people over the age of 75 who have fallen into the social network, ie they do not receive any retirement or other kind of support and do not have families dealing with them. Many have been identified, but the final number of beneficiaries, however, depends on how many donations in kind we will be able to collect!

The purpose of this project is to identify the most needy older people, which we will continue to support in 2018 (and beyond) with food, clothing medicine and other necessities. We hope with the support of many other friends and institutions who share our view that older people should not be left alone.

We believe it is time to return to our parents and grandparents what they have sacrificed and given to us. Priora Sr. Magdalena found these words: “Shalongo Nyokokulu wings, worn Nyoko ina valwa”, which means: “Thanks to your grandmother, otherwise your mother would not be born.” It is a direct thank you to the grandmothers who have endured our mothers. Therefore, Shalongo is the name of this project.
